He has worked with many of the world’s greatest singers including Dame Janet Baker, Olaf Bär, Barbara Bonney, Florian Boesch Susan Graham, Simon Keenlyside, Angelika Kirchschlager, Magdalena Kozena, , Jonathan Lemalu, Felicity Lott, Anne Sofie von Otter, Frederica von Stade and Bryn Terfel to name just a few.
He has presented his own series at the Wigmore Hall and at the Edinburgh Festival (Wolf). He has appeared throughout Europe, the USA, Australia (Adelaide in 2008) and at international Festivals including Aix en Provence, Vienna, Edinburgh, Schubertiade, Munich and Salzburg. CDs include recitals with Bryn Terfel (Deutsche G); Simon Keenlyside (EMI); Angela Gheorghiu and Barbara Bonney (Decca), Magdalena Kozena (DG), Della Jones (Chandos), Susan Bullock (Crear Classics), Solveig Kringelborn (for NMA); Amanda Roocroft (for Onyx); the complete songs of Fauré, Britten Folk Songs, Beethoven Folk Songs, Poulenc, Britten Song Cycles as well as Schubert’s Winterreise and Schöne Müllerin with Florian Boesch. Malcolm’s last visit to Adelaide was as Musician in Residence for the 2008 Accompanists’ Guild’s Silver Anniversary Festival. His dynamic presence as an educator and pianist was unforgettable. We welcome him back to Adelaide in anticipation of the delights in store for performers, observers , conference delegates and the audience in his recital with dynamic Austrian baritone Florian Boesch. Their Grammy nominated CD and performances of Schubert’s Die Schöne Müllerin have received rave reviews.
